When asked to describe herself, Erin laughs and says, “I’m so awesome, what can I say?” — a light-hearted and genuine reflection of the fun, bubbly, and wonderfully wacky energy she brings to Cloverdale Early Education and Care every day. Never one to fade into the background, Erin’s personality is larger than life, and her infectious enthusiasm lights up the Pre-Kindy Room.
Born in Scotland, Erin began her early schooling in the UK before her family made the move to Australia in 2008. She settled in Western Australia with her parents, two older sisters, and younger brother, completing her formal education here and discovering her passion for working with children along the way.
Before joining Cloverdale EEC, Erin gained experience in a variety of child-focused roles — from children’s entertainment and gymnastics coaching to working as a full-time au pair. She has always been drawn to the joy and energy of early childhood, and while she jokes that her application for a traineeship at Cloverdale was a spontaneous decision, it’s clear that her natural ability, experience, and creativity make her an incredible fit for the role.
Erin believes early childhood education is more than just a job — it’s a privilege. She loves that she gets to spend her days having fun, being silly, and making a meaningful impact on young children’s learning and development. Erin also values the strong involvement of families at this stage of life, seeing them as essential partners in the learning journey.
Outside of her work in early learning, Erin is a powerhouse in the performing arts. She plays classical and electric guitar, classical and contemporary piano, and even the banjo. She’s also an avid singer, dancer, and performer, currently starring in a production of Guys and Dolls. Her love for the arts spills into her work with children, where she’s often seen singing, dancing, and inspiring creativity in playful, meaningful ways.
Erin’s passions extend beyond music — she loves baking, cooking, and spending time outdoors. In her own words: “Put me outside with my guitar and some food, and I’ll be happy and could survive for months on end.” While she admits to knowing “a little bit of Gaelic” — with “rainbow” being her one go-to word — her real fluency lies in the language of laughter, play, and connection.
Erin is adored by her colleagues and the children alike for her energy, humour, and the way she throws herself wholeheartedly into play. She especially enjoys working with toddlers and Pre-Kindy children, finding joy in being her authentic, goofy self — and seeing the children meet her with the same silliness and energy. With her endless creativity, warm heart, and genuine love for early learning, Erin helps make Cloverdale EEC a joyful, welcoming, and inspiring place for children and families every single day.
